How does your game meet GBJam's theme
"Old gold" is the toys: what a kid loved most and then lost in the sandbox. You dig through the sand to find those old favourites piece by piece and put them back together, treasure that was only ever gold to the child who buried it.

Toy Story if it was written by a dark souls developer
Interesting idea! I think stricter movement limitations would be make playing this feel a lot better--the free movement often made selecting a particular tile to dig frustrating. Also a way to restart if you get stuck. Loved the writing, the digging sounds, and the visuals. Andy's shadow in particular looks really good!
What a fun experience! The camera was a bit awkward sometimes while trying to dig specific blocks but other than that, the gameplay was great! I enjoyed the sfx, and most of all the story. Great job!
The base idea is lovely here, I enjoyed digging around and finding stuff, but I did have troubles with a couple of things. The main one is the camera, for a game that revolves around going up and down, the camera is way to “jerky” for movement, meaning it jumps quite harshly to follow the player, causing motion sickness. A lerped camera would be so much better for this. This is also just amplyfied once you have the other robot randomly digging around under you!
The kid looking in from time to time is a neat idea, could last a little less though!
Graphically the game is spotless, very nice representation!
MSX and SFX are well made, though a bit too loud.
Overally cool idea, nice execution, needs a little fine tuning here and there!
I love it! It's cute and terrifying.

Really fun and addictive
Super fun little game, simple mechanics and good upgrades.
I really didn't see that ending coming!
