Really cool concept! This felt immediately familiar in a good way. The movement, controls, and overall presentation have a great old-school dungeon crawler feel.

Balance felt pretty rough right now, though. My runs seemed very dependent on RNG, especially whether I could find a weapon near the start. When I couldn’t, it felt like the run was mostly decided for me.

I’d also love a way to skip through the intro text on repeat attempts. It sets the scene nicely the first time but starts to slow things down when you’re restarting.

The broad strokes are definitely here. With some balance and detail work, I think you could push the throwback style even further and make this a really strong nostalgia-driven experience.

thanks a lot for the review!, yeah the balance is rough, i had ideas for more stuff that would have made it more balanced like some easier types of enemis and weapons, and stuff throuought the level, but ran out of time to actually make them, you can skip the intro with esc... i should have put a prompt for that.... . but yea i feel like the item variety and the level generation is proably the weakest point of the game..

Really enjoyed the overall vibe, and the controls felt very clean. It was a bit annoying having to watch the intro text each time I had to restart, though.

you can press esc but i forgot to mention it :,)), thanks a lot tho!

Ah, that just ejected me out of fullscreen so I didn’t think you had it bound to anything. Good to know tho!

Developer

It is, but when you are fullscreen you have to press 2 or 3 times for some reason, i added a little note in the description now 😅

Developer

Should have probably put it on P instead

Combat is hard. The levels depend too much on RNG. Even when I was gifted a room full of crates, including the key card and two guns, at startup, I couldn’t figure out combat.

I thought for a while I had to press space when “engaged” but that only seems to damage me, and not deplete my ammo. Running away didn’t work either. So SPACE is to skip a turn, not fire. Why doesn’t the manual tell me how to shoot?

Looks and sounds good, with great inventory system.

The manual should be distilled on the game page, and can be improved.

Developer

thanks! ,yeah that's dfinitely true,  we really rushed the map generation and stuff cause we ran out of time mostly,

I enjoyed the looking around and moving way of it, struggled a bit at first but very interesting and well crafted game :)

Developer

thanks!!

This game is super cool! I've never played any of the grid-based dungeon crawlers so this was a great introduction, and the game manual was very useful.

Thanks a lot!!! :D
