This one is spot on! The humour is so perfect. It's a fun lil puzzler with a tiny bit of platforming - nice! I just really like this one. The puzzles were a perfect level for an intro area and I got right into the game without needing any guidance other than the lil dialogue prompts from the characters. It's funny to me that the dino footsteps are grass steps but all the sounds are real cute.

Last OrderThanks!! I'm glad to hear it all made sense for a starting area. It's funny you mention the footstep sounds. I took them from the template project I was using as a reference for setting up movement controls and that game took place on grass haha. I have had it in mind to try to change those sounds to more fitting sounds based on ground type in the future.
This is such a cute little game. I hope you do continue to work on it. If you've gotten this much done in two weeks, I can't imagine what you'll get done with more time.
I think the only thing I don't like is how high pitch the jump sound is.

Jurassic JoustingOut of all the games I played for this jam, this one was my favorite! I love the art style, the idea is very creative, and I love the quests and designs. I hope you turn this into a fully fledged game I would love to play it! Also, what software did you use to make the art?

For the dino idle/walk animations I actually started by drawing the frames on paper and then digitized them with Krita (free art program) and polished it up after converting it to pixel art (which was kind of a happy accident cause I exported the Krita animation as a gif, which dropped the resolution so when I imported it on GameMaker it was pixelated, but I really liked the look). For all the other sprites I actually just used the built in sprite editor in GameMaker. It's pretty simple but it worked for me!

Love the game it was very cute and the comic was a fun addition, sad it didnt make it in game. Only feedback I would give is to make it so if you click on a person it would also start chat. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to click the speech bubble. Other than that I thought the game was fantastic. Great job! Looking forward to seeing it built out more!

Kitbash Dinosaur PoCI like you hand drawn comic a lot! It's really expressive, and I get the story right away.
I managed to sneak my way into the labratory (the one with the spill) but got stuck there. Can I go back to where I cam from? Or is the solution in that room? Tried to jump from the boxes over the spill, but that brought the game into an endless loop (me bouncing back and forth). Think that's a bug? I see in your pics I have to wear another hat, but where can I find it?
The art is really good (the dino walking cycle - chefs kiss) and also the sound fx fit perfectly well. Your first jam? Fantastic job!

Little RoamersThanks so much! Yea I noticed the infinite-fall-in-acid bug but didn't have time to fix it unfortunately. You can jump over the spill via the boxes and cabinets to find the hat you need, and then jump back the way you came to access what you need to progress (just don't fall in the puddle lol). I really appreciate the feedback! :D
I love this game, the art style is so cute. For a first game jam its very good. Can't wait to see how the game continues.
