Interesting idea that kinda flies over my head most of the time, sadly it does break a lot of rules around the jam. What is not rule breaking here is okay, I kinda it is hard to decypher every coworker as there are just many of them and you would have to remember every chunk that you sent down the line by memory, order and which order they are broken themself.
I love the basic premise but despite my best effort I was unable to make it work. I've tried to find my fellow workers patern, I've tried cheesing it by damaging every single block to make them break when they get examined. In the end my best effort was just buying lots of gloves to bully my colleagues right as the gun was passing them to get them shot.
Your initial concept is solid, It reminded me a lot of Secret Hitler with a mining coat of paint and made for a single player. I'm pretty mad at myself for failing to win because this kind of game is right up my alley.
Very nice palette, good presentation all around, I like the way you made the shop function and how stressfull it is to buy anything, it really does feel like a black market. My biggest complaint about the whole thing is that it's possible to use the mouse to click on "new game" on game start, but that's mostly Game Boy pedantry.
Solid entry, If you have any strategy tips I'd gladly take them.
Great pallete choice and art! I really like the gameplay depth of the game of trying to figure out the patterns of the other workers. The story was compelling as well!
First, I love the art! From the tiles to color palette, it was such a good choice. I also really appreciated the story, and the story art scenes were a nice touch. It took me a minute to grasp everything but once I did it was fun to play! Lovely work!
I love the idea, but I only managed to get a coworker fired once. it’s kind of hard to read what all the items do in the shop, since the gun is shooting you. maybe pausing the game in shop-mode would be better. also, I bought the paint but didn’t know how to apply it.
the mechanics are hard to grasp…maybe show the stack sizes all the time? but a cool game that kept me playing for an hour :-) well done!
Thanks for playing. I was afraid that the game went to complex and hard to understand that people might drop it after a few minutes. So happy to hear that you played so long :D
About the shop mode: The originally idea was to have breaks between shifts and the player buy the stuff there. Only activate the Items on the workbench (which is the shop now). The reason was that I wanted to make the player feel stressed while picking items because the gun is checking if you work. Still thanks for the feedback, definitely something I have to keep in mind :)
thanks for playing, yeah I don't think its your fault. The game went to complex that it actually need a tutorial. But I wasn't able to make one in time (only the quick how to play slides in the beginning, which are not really engaging for the player). Next time I want to make a more simpler game.
Ah because I use continues movement for animation (moving the gun) ? I will note that for the next one. This is my first jam with so specific requirements :D
