Jam Host(+1)

Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 9! I'm Hythrain, one of the hosts for this event! While I'm a bit behind with getting my VODs out, I played your game on stream and wanted to send you the VOD. I make the effort to express all of my thoughts for feedback in the VOD, so I hope it's useful to you! Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7WMdtPAmRA

I also want you to be aware that due to a reference you put into the game that caught my attention, I am being far more critical than I normally would be. For me, the inclusion of the reference suggested that you've likely played the game the reference is from a great deal. That, in turn, created an assumption that you likely have also played other games from that developer/publisher, including one that has very similar combat to yours.

Also, if you're not already then please consider joining the Indie Questing Discord server (the main server for Feedback Quest). I'd love to be able to talk with you more about this game, especially regarding its story (I'm a huge fan of good story telling and world building, and something about your game really hit a note with me).

Thanks so much for the incredibly detailed feedback! I got a lot out of watching the video, and I’ll be working a number of your suggestions into fixes and polish over the next week. The skill tree issue that stopped the run is at the top of my list.

Your combat UI suggestions especially made sense. I’m still a little torn on the treasure-after-combat point, but I’m thinking through it. I also really enjoyed your dialogue reading and exploration of the game, and of course seeing you recognize some of the game references. More than anything, it was just really fun watching and hearing someone else experience the game. Thanks again!

Very nice game with unusual turn-based combat system with a tactical part, yeah! The only one thing I would like is to have an option to [use] items when I need healing.

Thanks so much for playing and for the comment! The Item relic is meant to let you use consumables during combat, but I clearly need to make that more intuitive. I’ll work on making that clearer in-game. Really appreciate the feedback!
