I couldn’t get past the Coelophysis - I tried to get on its back, hit and run, push it off the edge, but it always beats me eventually, ahah.
I reckon you did not have the time to add more features, but I wonder if a healthbar could have helped me figure out what strategies were working out / were not?
Oh yea for sure. A healthbar would've helped a lot.
No, I didn't even have time to add a background, music, SFX either.
Shame you didn't have time to do more for the game. I surprisingly found it really fun, just going back and making a strategy to avoid as much damage as possible from the enemies. also putting the big neck on the tiny body is definitely the best choice if for no other reason than it looks funny. I don't know if you plan to, but I think it could become a really fun game if you continue to work on it after DinoJam!
Thank you.
I'll consider it. I think I also have to learn what makes a 1v1 2D type of game fun, especially because I basically never play those games.
Great idea for a game and the neck movement is cool!
Thank you. The neck movement uses the Unity IK system (which in of itself already has a lot to be desired), and that's the only thing that I thought I could use, because I've never animated before.
I like the animations and the first enemy looks pretty cool!
Thanks. The first enemy was coelphysis. I'm not an artist, so I had to learn how to make "feather-like" textures for this. I also tried to put just a little bit of depth into the color by adding a darker shade underneath everything.
Watching the coelophysis spaz out was great. I wish my I was that flexible. I feel like the movement mechanics, although a bit strange could have a lot of fun uses. Great job getting the game in, Im sure coding that neck mechanic had to be difficult!
Thank you. The neck was actually the easiest part. Everything else took so long that I had no time to playtest for anything.
Hey no need to apologize, its still a big accomplishment to have been able to submit something in two weeks! Despite the lack of sound it still has the bones of what could make a fun game! I did enjoy playing.
Thank you. Keeping the scope in tact was difficult.
A pretty solid game I would say, it's a bit buggy and weird tho. But very good effort!
Thanks. Working on this alone was a nightmare.
