pretty fun little game actually! nice work!

  • the recording mechanic is pretty cool, and not one that i’ve seen in many other games. it’s similar to Braid, but because of the way the character controls, the game has a very different feel.
  • a lot of the levels were fairly simple to beat. i didn’t even need to use the recording mechanic on several of them. the last one was pretty tricky though!
  • the random enemies flying across the screen on occasion was pretty funny, but also a little frustrating.
  • the graphics and music are simple, but effective.
  • the narration between levels does mention gold and ancient things, but the theme doesn’t seem very present in the game. it feels like you made a game and then added in references to the theme after the fact.

I liked the idea of playing with your recording but I felt like it was pretty chaotic, sometimes I was trying to do something and "controls swapped!!" and it didn't feel there was something related. Also the instructions per level are difficult to read and the solutions felt a bit repetitive. The random things could be better if there is something indicating it is going to happen maybe? it added a bit of fun but I felt like the game was cheating on me when I was solving the level.

The gameplay felt really tight, and the levels were quick. Even if i got say, stuck in the map, the level would reset in time for me to just keep going on the next attempt. Really cool mechanic with the echo!

Very cool game. The record mechanic was mind-blowing the first time I used it.

I like the mechanic but you should change the colour of your in-game text, it's the same colour as the background so I can't read it

I really like the idea with the REC mechanic, and I also love how little unexpected challenges randomly pop up! Unfortunately, I got stuck on one of the levels. I couldn't figure out how to get up in level 5.

It’s a fun puzzle game, though in some places it’s unclear how to use the recording mechanic. In fact, I didn't even need it for some levels. Also, there was a bug in one of the early levels where I fell through the textures and ended up beneath the floor.

Interesting idea, but I think it could've been nice if the main recording mechanic was challenged more. A lot of levels seemed to be easily solved by me just not using the mechanic at all (using simple platforming to reach the exit) or using it merely to stand on a button.

it’s a good idea to scale up your game 5x so that it will be larger on the page.
