Super cute game, and I love the idea behind the combat system. Feels really good to be able to pull off one of the big attacks and get a lot of hits with it. It felt like it was kind of difficult to do anything beyond the first level attacks though, it didn't feel like I had a lot of room to maneuver or time to build up charge before I was about to get attacked again. The effect when you get hit kind of threw me off as well. Returning to the spawn point makes sense for when you fall off, but if I got hit, sometimes it would just send me straight into another pile of enemies when I was already positioned more like I wanted to (mostly only had an issue with the long level with this).
The style of the game was also super nice! I really liked the way the sprites were mixed in with the environments, made it feel like a pretty unique vibe. The game was pretty funny too, and the music was quite nice to listen to.
thank you!!
This is another 5/5 game in all categories, very difficult but very high quality game
thank you!!
I finally 1cc’d it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGJqe_9RRCU
Thanks for playing!
You're a madlad for reaching the platform @10:22 :D it wasn't the intended way to beat that enemy (but it was definitely misleading)
It was actually to raise a large coconut from the bottom platform and throw it from the far left, but I'll tweak it again so it's also an intended path
I think it worked because there seems to be roundy coliision on the corners of platforms. What I presume is happening is, you have to be at zero or very low vertical speed to jump, but there’s some logic to smoothly push you up if you collide with the side of a platform, which allowed me to land up on an unintended platform.
I see about the coconut. I didn’t go that way because I was too scared that the brown coconut frags won’t reach the enemy, so I dieharded from the up instead.
Once I figured out how to get into the game, it was very fun and creative. The artwork looked cute and the 3D/2D blended well together. Great job!
thank you!!
Took me quite a long time to work out the controls. Using e and z isn't very intuitive! However, once I'd worked out how you bounce a coconut and then "praise" it to activate it, it became a pretty fun game. Well done!
thanks!! I should update the game to clarify that the controls are either e or z (so z works alongside arrow buttons to move and e works alongside wasd. but its true e is probably not the best placement and should replace with o or something)
thanks for the feedback!
very fun way to fight, it took a bit to get used to, but once it clicked, it worked very well.
