Scene reuse for static assets allowed ?

dear all,

we have a student with 0 godot previous knowledge interested in participating in the jam, our only chance to reach the deadline is to reuse scene assets from other public projects at our lab or other repos from gh. Is that allowed or it falls under "Do not use existing projects as a base" ?  I'm specifically talking about e.g. taking a table scene from a project, a computer workstation from another, small-scale scenes from xr-tools demo or even the gridmap room scene from https://codeberg.org/BastiaanOlij/ehu-vr-demo. None of the assets are taking part directly in the development of the game mechanics, which will be completely novel, and thus are limited to static assets and would be reused with proper credits.

I just wanted to make sure we don't conflict with any rules before attempting a submission,

thanks for the time to organize this all!

I don't want to speak for the organisers but that should be fine I think. The "no existing projects as a base" rule came about because last time there were a couple of submissions where the whole game was basically made before the jam.

Using licensed 3d art assets, xr templates, etc should be fine.

Indeed, that is all fine. The rule was added for people who started with a complete project, and just adjusted it for the theme.
Just components copied from other projects or samples, or using something like Godot XR Template, which is XR Tools combined with just 3 base example scenes, is all fine.
