if the chase doesn't kill me before I press any key and start playing that would maybe be good idea.
it felt a bit too easy as I completed it twice in under 5 minutes... the chase isn't adaptive so if you get a headstart you can even chill on the platforms a bit, the indicator to jump probably looks nice but it wasn't even accurate I could have jumped earlier
Played it, cleared it on the third try, about 24s. Then I poked the build. Two things stood out.
The collapse pressure is the good part. The second you notice the floor behind you is gone, you stop playing safe. That read lands.
1) The page says "you auto-run to the right". It doesn't. You only move while holding right or D. Someone who reads the page and taps space stands still until the wall eats them. gengar-shark hit the same wall above. Either make the auto-run real, or put "hold right to move" on the first platform.
2) The collapse wall never catches a running player. EAT_SPEED is 240, run speed is 330, so the wall is always losing that race. It only kills you if you stop or miss a jump, which makes "the collapse eats everything" decorative and turns the whole level into one-mistake-and-done. If the wall is the threat, close that gap.
Difficulty itself is fair: 7 clean clears out of 8 tries, ~25s each.
Swap? Mine is RIG, 2 min, one mechanic: drive to a part, bolt it on; every part changes both how you move and how you live. https://broilands.itch.io/rig Play it cold, no explanation, and tell me the exact moment you got bored. Raw beats polite.
First play, two attempts, both eaten at the opening gap. Held right and tapped space and still went into the floor at HEIGHT 0m / CLIMB 0%. Not calling the jump unfair, only that a first-timer gets no runway: the title says "press space to start" and lists move + jump on one line, so I read space as the action and sat still until I worked out I had to hold a direction. A one-line "hold right to move" on the first platform, or a slightly wider opening gap, would keep a slow player in long enough to feel the collapse, which is the good part.
Swap? Mine is Room One & Room Two: two rooms, one shark, drag or arrow keys, ~2 minutes, no score. If you play it, tap "Share my run" and paste the link in a comment; it replays your exact run and I get to watch a real one, which is the thing I'm missing. https://gengar-shark.itch.io/room-one-room-two
Hi, thanks for the notes on Meteor-Dodge – here’s my read on Collapse Climb. On PC I could only jump with the mouse. Space doesn’t jump for me: it scrolls the whole website down instead, so the game slides out of view and I can’t really play it on desktop. It probably needs the game to grab keyboard focus when it starts (or a preventDefault on Space). I’d love to try a proper run once that works – the idea of the collapsing wall behind you sounds fun!
