Hello again! Wanted to ask of there are any plans on releasing mac and linux versions of the game. Are there such plans? As a linux user, I get frustrated at times when a game I wanna play doesn't launch with proton, especially when it did earlier. :(

Yes there are such plans in general. I can't really tell you more as I have limited knowledge on how to maintain such builds. One thing breaks and if I can't fix it, there will be severe backlash. I never officially supported proton, I don't know what broke it and I don't know what made it work in the first place.

If you ended without any working copy if you let me know the last version it worked for you I can make it public for a few days again so you can download it, but that's about all I can do right now. I think you could also try a virtual machine with windows installed as I heard some people use that in general for gaming on Linux in such cases.

I tried to run AfterShift again today, after fiddling with it and proton for the considerable part of yesterday and in the end giving up for the day, and it just works now (every version of the game, except for 0.6.1.x since I don't have them). That's for not knowing what's up with working, breaking and working again all of the sudden, I'm here with you for it.

Thank you for offering to temporarily open downloads for old versions, but, as stated earlier, everything works for me just fine again now. I wouldn't mind getting to have 0.6.1.x versions at hand though. 👀

Regarding windows in a VM, I'd like to not. I'm a lazy ass, it's too much hassle for me to set it up and then spin it up every time I want to play a game and then turn it off just so it doesn't gobble all of my ram and hangs the whole system. :-P

Glad to hear it's working! Well I was happy to make exception for old build downloads since it may have made a difference for Linux players, but I probably shouldn't upload them on requests or else I'll get tons of those hehe. On the bright side, I also keep all past version mastercopies so they are very safe as I likely won't be able to upload every single one to Itch (as I have done so far somehow)
