Salutations! This post is specifically for rules clarifying, team forming and question answering. Though we (Dizzy and I) want to provide answers to all your questions in a timely manner, we are more likely to miss them if they are posted somewhere else, so do us a solid and leave them here!

The rules are simple: Act weird and I'll throw you in the dungeon! (Sorry, we don't have a dungeon.)
More specifically, don't use any of the community features for something they aren't meant for. Posting new topics is mainly for requesting/offering talent. Be friendly (but not too friendly!)

If you would prefer not to post a new topic to offer or request talent, you can reply directly to this post instead!

If you have questions, you can also reply directly to this post! Ask relevant questions, get semi-relevant answers. Yay.

Thanks for joining,
fordizzy

Hi! How does the revenue share work and do I get to keep the rights to my game and stuff? Thank you!

Host

The distribution of revenue will be handled through itch.io's automatic revshare system, with each featured developer receiving 15% of the profits, while fordizzy takes a 15% share for its game plus the leftover 10% for marketing, time, and personal greed. The rights and IP to your game remain completely yours.

While new features cannot be added after the anthology goes on sale, you can push bug fixes indefinitely. There will also be a buffer window between the jam's end and the anthology's launch for developers to polish their submissions however they choose, and once fully released, you are completely free to build sequels, reuse your characters, or expand your submission into a standalone project down the line.

Yo! I am 16 and just starting out my journey of game devs (and also jams. If I am lucky this will be my first one), I wanted to ask can I join this jam while being that young and having no team?

Host

Yo! Yes, you absolutely can. Having a team is great, and so is working alone. Being 16 is also not a problem for this jam specifically if you are able to post games on itch.io. The one thing I will say on that is that you might need to get help from a parent/guardian to set up your itch account to take payments, however that's usually pretty simple. Aside from that, you are all set, welcome to the jam!

Tysm sir! And yes, I did take guardian confirmation and overwatch prior to making my account here. I really appreciate your quick reply. And I look forward to making my game here in this jam!

Ofc, it's great you're learning game design! <3

Hi! How do I find what the theme is?

Host

Hi, the theme announcement post is up now! You can find it here in the forum, but it's Old Poetry & Nursery Rhymes in case anyone wanders in here looking for it <3

Hey man it’s me again… I was literally watching the countdown of this jam until it went into negatives lmao

But, I have noticed that even aftre like hours, I still don’t know what the theme is. Now, it would be okay if you are busy but I can’t really start this jam until I know what the theme is about… hope you understand.

I really hope you do that soon enough! ^^

Host

Hey!! Haha, I literally just woke up 😭

The jam started at midnight, so I went to sleep after getting everything started and just woke up a little while ago. I definitely didn't mean to leave anyone hanging!

Also, honestly, it's really sweet that you're so excited to get started haha. I'm glad you're excited for the jam!!! ^^

The theme announcement is up now, so you can get started! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with :)

Hi! Quick question about the submission requirements. The jam rules under 'Existing Games & Assets' say existing projects are welcome, but the submission dialog enforces 'Created after the jam started' — my project The Last Shift (published Sept 25) can't be submitted because the Submit button stays disabled. Is the written rule or the platform setting the intended one? Thanks!

Host

Hi! Thanks for pointing that out, the setting was on unintentionally. Already made games are super welcome so long as they are horror and meaningfully incorporate the theme. Let me know if you run into any more snags! :)
