My interpretation of roots was family related, roots of life if you will.

What a fun game! I loved the mechanics, the foxes and the capybara(?) were so cute!
Maybe you could add a little reset button? I got stuck cause I impulsively pushed a boulder wrongly and I had to replay the game a few times. Maybe there could be some variation on the bushes as well as the sprite seemed a little repetitive.
But It was overall really fun! I enjoyed it. Loved the zoom in on the first maze.
Thanks for the comment! There is a reset button I just unfortunately broke it, my apologies.
More bush sprites would have indeed been good, I just didn't have enough time to draw more things. I could have maybe modulated them differently I suppose.
Thanks! (And yes Capybara)
Fun and very cute game. I love the mechanics shown and I am a big fan of the push objects and solve puzzles. The maze was nicely made where you can get hints by looking from the outside before getting in. Well done!
Foxes are my absolute favorite and a Capybara?! c'mon. Such a great choice, delightful gameplay.
I love both capybaras and foxes 20/5 stars
Thanks for help Capey!! Kinda wasted chance to make the maze a corn maze ๐คค๐คค
Congrats on your fist solo game! I'm curious what do you think you want to improve for the next one?
I liked that it is simple but feels complete. Capey's sprite was just awesome. And the detail of the fox cubs following you is cool. I wonder how could the gameplay could be changed eventually so you can have lots of fox cubs following you :)
Thank you so much!
I do want to improve on art, I felt I did decently here considering the timeframe (and the fact I don't really draw) but it's a far ways from being perfect.
I've been programming for a short while so that's something I'd like to improve on as well.
Besides broad things such as art/music/sound/programming. I'd have liked to improve on complexity of puzzles in this one, maybe had a bit more meat to the game, but I felt at the time that would breach the "cozy" feels. Or just more puzzles in general, but short and sweet as well as easy to play was my goal.
For jams in future I want to be able to keep my scope reasonable and learn the extent of my abilities, I'd always rather release something "complete" than a prototype if I can help it.
In theory the code supports an infinite amount of foxes... So it could be endless! More puzzles would be one thing, but I think it would overstay it's welcome if there were any more of them. I'd probably have to add more mechanics in that case.
Thanks again!
I was gagged when the game started zooming in when I went into the maze ๐ญ. Amazing first submission! I absolutely loved the inclusion of the super capybara haha
Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked Capey!
I love how smooth the movement is and the art is adorable!! great work
Thank you! I'm glad you found the art adorable and the movement smooth!
Nice short game and I really liked the maze
Thank you very much!
This was lovely! I was delighted by our characters movement speed, I think if we were slow on a map this size it would've been less fun. I loved the end card and the labryinth segment. Capey is an Icon.... Well done to the contributors!
Regarding feedback, for some reason stone push puzzle would not reset, so I had to refresh the page. Pushing the boulders felt a bit scary, but I managed to slip through with only 2 tries.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it! The reset button needs to be stood on for a full second, if you did that then maybe I accidentally broke something...
Capey will return...
loved when it zoomed in on the labyrinth! very cute game ^^
Thank you so much for playing!
Loved the labyrinth idea, and I really enjoy foxes! The theme is very cozy and I liked the music but it ended at a certain point (or I took too long to find the foxes, ahaha). The capivara king is very funny :D
Whoops... I forgot to loop the audio... I kept completing the game so quick it never occurred to me. Thank you for the comment I'm glad you liked it! Capey will return...
this game is sooo cozy!! :D great work
Thank you very much! I'm glad you thought so!
The larger maze where the camera zooms in was very creative and did make the maze much more chllenging! Always gotta love a game that includes capybara's too.
Thank you very much for playing! Capybara's are so cute!
I love your art in this game! I do think the walking sound could be less repetitive though.
Thanks very much! Sorry you found the walking sound repetitive, I will try and pitch shift it when I do games like this in future.
I did iiit ;) sweet.
Thank you so much for playing!
