On one of the screens you will have seen a yellow arrow pointing to the right, but you cannot go through there.
Once you have all the items, you will be able to go in the direction indicated on that same screen.
The game is complex—it was designed that way—so it is not for beginners.
In the second part, you will need to rely a bit more on logic and somewhat less on skill.
