In the latest version, the game automatically downloads the images from the internet, so the assets_pics.zip file is no longer needed.

The crash could be caused by several things, such as an unimplemented card, an error in a card effect, or a version mismatch. Since the game has been sunset, we’re no longer able to investigate or fix issues directly.
You could try a community-maintained version instead. If the issue still occurs there, please upload your game save data and include the relevant section of your console log when reporting the bug to that community.
