Dug into tier I for a few minutes. The premise is genuinely fresh: minesweeper where the clues are chess pieces that count the squares they could move to, and "no board needs a guess" is the right promise to make.
Two friction points as a first-time player. (1) There is no legend on the board for what each piece sees. I kept bouncing back to the page copy to remember rook = row+column, bishop = diagonals, knight = jumps. A tap/hover tooltip on each piece would remove that entirely. (2) Every cell renders at a similar low contrast, so at a glance I could not tell which squares were already opened and which were untouched. My eyes worked harder than the logic did.
Did not get far enough to hit a forced guess, but the idea is worth the polish. Would play again with a clearer board.
Thank toy for playing!
You are the second player for the last 2 days who says the contrast is too low. I'm thinking about it right now, something should be done there...
Regarding the tooltips with with what piece sees - right, and this is even more complex issue. I need to think of how to do these things obvious and to don't clutter UI too much in the same time.
