This game rocks. I love the unique mechanic based on the story of Midas and the puzzles were greatly designed, too. The game's sprites and animations are so charming and it all feels more like a modern take on Game Boy visuals. I think the screen shake really adds to the experience, really adding weight to the boxes landing. The sound effects and music are fun to hear and feel unmistakably Game Boy!
I'm glad you fixed the softlock, because this game would've been impossible to beat.
Overall, this is one of my favourites from this jam and you guys did an amazing job! I can totally see this becoming a full game!
I really liked it, I loved the graphics and the puzzles, I got soft locked in a room but then I saw you fixed that and played the other version and then I completed the game. I love when the game is intuitive and I can complete them xD. When I saw gifs I didn't see any interesting puzzle but that changes when playing it. Awesome entry.
Really really nice pixel art! Love all the little details such as the particles and the little variations in the light around the player! Controls and overall gameplay feel very responsive, and the music is great! Also the little fall animation at the beginning kind of reminded me of Deltarune XD
did find a little bug where the key in this screen redirected to the lock at the end of the previous screen, which also blocked you from going back after having entered the screen
did a bit of testing as to when this exactly happened, but in the end couldn't really find any patterns
also did a little speedrun afterwards, not really sure if it's any good, but it was fun regardless :D
Had a blast playing this one, keep it up ^^
Super clean entry! Very satisfying platformer and puzzling.
The game was so nice and good experience - lovely work! I think what really blew it out of the water was the animation and pixel art. holy cow - the pixel art is clean and so polished. Props to the artist on this!
What are the keyboard controls? I couldn't get anything except the X and Z keys to do anything... so I could get thru the title screen and into the game, but cannot move the character to get the crutch and actually start playing. I tried both the original post and the fixed one you added after.
Arrow keys, though you can remap them from the settings
Arrow keys not working, can’t remap if you can’t get to settings. Gotta be something about my setup. Using Safari on a Mac.
just tried it on safari and yep, it indeed doesn't work. gamemaker games generally tend to not play well with browsers outside chrome/chromium based ones so there isn't a ton i can do
Loved it, especially the art style!
