Glad you liked it, thanks for playing. I struggled a bit with the order of the levels. At one point I sprinkled the addition levels throughout the game, but it ended up muddling the overall progression. So I ended up sticking with a rough progression of small numbers -> big numbers -> reverse numbers. Adding multiplication was also on the list (would have been the 4th set), but ran out of time.

Really like the pixel art style. I did figure out that I could cheese the bosses though. If you load them just barely on the edge of the screen, you can shoot and kill them without activating their movement/attacks. Just make them invincible until the intro text for the boss is triggered, and you should be good!
Thanks!
For the level designs I tried to make sure each level had something unique to say/experience. I also tried to couple that with various "special number" sets like perfect squares, powers of 2, Pi, etc. Then I tried to make sure each puzzle had only one solution... which I was somewhat successful at.
Thanks for the feedback. Funny thing, when I was building the level format, I originally had it so I could position each individual triangle at a set location, specifically for this purpose. But while filling that out I quickly realized it was going to take hours to get everything placed in the exact right pixel locations, so I dropped it in favor of randomness. There are some levels where I had in mind specific layouts, so that might make a return some day.
Interesting concept! The only thing that was troubling for me was that the text box for inputting the price of energy was constantly left aligning... so if I wanted to type in "10", it would set to "01", and it would be difficult to backspace without using the mouse to move the cursor manually. killed me a couple times.
the spark spell *seems to be* op. most enemies seem to only take damage from spark.
there's a lot going on in the interface of this game. I like the idea of using directional input to create spells, but all the other stuff was mostly just confusing to me. definitely has good stuff in it, maybe just needs some simplification?
like the concept, needs more "hacking" mini games. I don't think the game is doing this now (or maybe it is)? but the idea that you have to find and disable any security applications on the computer first before downloading files is good. different security applications should have different "defenses" (mini games) with some consequence if you fail.
dig the concept, played a few games. is it totally random? I had a couple games that were (or at least seemed to be) unwinnable.
also had an issue where a tile would get applied to the wrong die. probably just a collision testing bug, I'm guessing. otherwise, same notes as others... some explanation of the tiles would be helpful.
Very nice. Like someone else said, it took a game to realize the mechanic properly. The only thing that confused me was when I had branched sets of numbers (like a line of 2-3-4-3-2), where I placed the middle number, the game seems to arbitrarily pick one or the other path to score. My intuition was I should score for both paths. Anyway, love the aesthetic, I got 398!
