Really cool to see another driving-based take on the theme. The whole thing has more of an “imminent disaster / race against the storm” feeling than a traditional journey home, but I think it still works.

The strongest part for me was the atmosphere. The headlights, rain, water, road, and general stormy presentation all come together really well, especially for something made solo in 7 days. It feels like a project where a lot of the value came from experimenting with different 3D systems in Godot, and that experimentation definitely shows in a good way.

The main rough spots I noticed were collisions and audio balance. In the canyon I sometimes felt like I got caught on the wall even when I didn’t look especially close to it, and the impact sound when hitting a wall or rail was much louder and more abrupt than the rest of the mix.

Overall, the 3D work is solid, and the atmosphere carries the experience well.

As someone who also went with a driving game for this jam, it was fun seeing a completely different approach to the same general space.

Thanks for the feedback, I was very happy with the effects I ended up with! I think the collisions are actually small issues with the floor geometry? I tried to fixed it but had basically no luck as I made the custom road tool and it was very much a code mess! Thanks for pointing out the collision audio issues, I tested it in a loud environment so was probably not the best practice. Cheers!

Makes sense! I’m brand new to 3D myself, so I can’t offer much on the geometry side 😅 Glad the audio note was useful though. Really enjoyed seeing what you built.
