How does your game tie into the extra theme (optional)
So.
I figured "What's the root of a person?" (no not their feet, that's weird). Their shoes!
Now, "What's the root of a shoe?"... the heel I guess?
So I turned Hell into "Heel" and then realized Soul <-> Sole and I just couldn't resist it...
Plus Fall colors are really similar to Hell colors though so I decided why not
Though tbh I think I did go pretty far off from the direction of Roots

Love your game, the shader made me a little seasick. The concept is completely crazy but fun.
Hmmm, didn't think of that when I put the shader in. Personally I wasn't sure if I had set it too low to be noticeable, so this is definitely noted.
Very creative game, I like the idea! I didn't feel too cozy but this was certainly entertaining!

I added the sleeping bench as a last ditch effort to feel cozy, but I do get that cozy isn't just a mechanic, it should be the whole game

If I told my past self from a week ago this game was related to "Roots" I don't even think they would get it
Although this isn't exactly fall-y, I have to confess that I did laugh maniacally at the screen after whacking a group of 4 shoes to death with a banana leaf. (Did not expect to write that sentence today when I woke up this morning lol)

Woah there, you're not putting them to death, you're getting them to relax, it's just that the cat is a little too enthusiastic about it. (If I made dialogue for the cat it would mostly be them screaming in all caps "RELAX HARDER!" over and over at the shoes lol)

That animation specifically I think was inspired from Balatro
its a bit hard to see the cat but oh my days its fun. great art and cover art. unable to see the "fall" theme in this though.
Glad to hear it's fun! And that the art is good! (I'm generally pretty conscious about my art, I don't really think I have a defined art style yet, and I think I usually make it look awful, so it really does mean a lot!)
But yah, true dat on the "fall" theme, I uhhhhh went kinda far from that lol... I definitely don't expect to do well in that category.
I liked the pixel art of the cat and the music at the beginning.

They're a little demon kitty! They actually like it there... though the humidity and heat are admittedly enough to make anyone want a winter vacation eventually.
