You can try playing the game from an SSD disk instead of an HDD, if your game is on an HDD. Or try to unpack GRO files into the game folder because they are the same as ZIP archives. This will make your game folder messy but may load the files slightly faster.
Other than that, I don’t have any solutions for speeding it up even more because the game engine is very outdated.
