Really love the characters and artwork done on this game! Sometimes in the beginning I was not sure where to interact or kept running in and out of the house on accident. However, really solid game and longer project than I've usually seen in a short game jam. Loved the the backstory, and the day-by-day excitement of what would come next. Thanks for creating and sharing this amazing game! I'm interested to see more lore on this game in the future :D

Thank you so much! I'm really glad that you enjoyed it. Something I love doing with game jams is making mini-games like this one around my larger story. It gives me an excuse to share little bits within the same world and with some of the characters while I'm still working on my bigger projects, haha. So you can definitely look forward to more games around these characters and worlds in the future! I worked hard to keep the scope pretty low on this one so that I could finish all of the levels and art that I had planned within the short time. Luckily, with all of the game jams I've done previously, I have a system down that helps me work more quickly and efficiently once I have the core gameplay loop down, so that I can expand and make them a little longer even with the short time that I had!
I made some updates in version 2 based on your initial feedback about the interactions, so I'm hoping the additional interaction keys above their heads will help with that! I made a couple of other updates that I'm planning to push live once the jam is over too. Thank you for your feedback!
In the course of investigating that bug (I didn’t resolve it, sorry), found that you’re actually really close to being able to run in browsers. Experimentally, I disabled Sarena_DebugLogFile.js, and hard-coded the ink json in LWP_Ink.js. Two little changes and then it seemed to launch ok in browser. Didn’t play all the way thru, so there’s probably other things. But wow: You really ought to make a web build in the future, it’s much more convenient for players.
Hey, thank you for playing! Sorry you ran into that bug. I'll look into it to see if I can recreate it! I appreciate you detailing how you got it and sending over the error message.
I unfortunately haven't found a way to create web builds of my recent games because I need that Ink plugin for all of my dialogue to work. It's unfortunately not compatible from what I can tell, and I haven't heard back from the plugin creator in a few years when I asked about it. I've been recently dabbling in learning how to make my own plugins and have been making some modifications to existing ones, so maybe one day I'll figure out how to get them to work together, though! Thanks for trying to help out with this.
I managed to crash it somehow… Was doing a second run thru, with Ann invoked, in Swiss George’s, just as I tried to pick up the balloon:

I think I may have found out what happened here. Based on the error message, it looks like you may have been in the middle of a jump while the ability was in the middle of deactivating, with the timer reaching 0. I've made the fix in my offline version, and I'll push it live on the page after the jam is over. Thanks for bringing this up so I could remove that bug!
