How does the game utilize the theme, if at all?
Heist: With a theme of “heist” my imagination went to stealing stuff and with this being part of the Lame Jam, let’s steal something trivial like munchies.
Brain Rot: With an optional extra theme of “brain rot” I wondered how things could deteriorate as the game progressed. I thought the loss of a dice is a good way to accomplish this and it also introduced a nice way to define the end of the game.

This is a very cool game, but I didn't have 6 D6 (sorry I'm not playing dnd so I don't need that many) but I wanted to play it anyway, so I made a simple html JS page with the rules you described, it certainly has bugs, but I made it in an hour so that is to be expected. One thing I noticed - it is not clear how the cards can be played. You can play a card once and apply it to a roll, but can you do it with multiple cards? example: you rolled all 1, you play joker to change all 1 to all 6, then you play 6 to score 6 times. If you can apply only one card to a roll that would not work. Also what happens to the score when you use hearts cards exactly? does it override current roll (that's what I decided to do in my implementation) or does it add to current score? example: we have 2 3 3 4 5 1 if it overrides, playing 3 of hearts results in total score of 6, but if it adds it will count the 5 and then add 6, totalling to 11. btw link to github pages of my implementation https://bobon4uto.github.io/d6-thieves-minimal-implementation/
Thank you so much for playing and this comment. And wow, you're awesome for building that html page!
