A very simple but well executed idea! I think sound effects would have tied it all together, but it is a nice experience even without them!
It's a bit silly but fun! We enjoyed it as a break during the jam.

it feels like you could use this as a part of a warioware style game
It definitely works as a mini-game, but there's not a lot of substance to turn it into a full game - for a first/early game in your career though, it's a very solid start! The mechanics you have are clear and work well, and you've got a good sense of game feel - it feels very nice to play, and that can be difficult to achieve. I hope this Jam motivates you to start working on bigger and more complex projects!

I think adding a simple sound effect to when you catch a leaf could improve the feeling of the game a lot.
