Description
When I first saw the theme, I thought of the fire burning inside the lantern and wanted to make something to do with that. I also took the secret part from the text theme and I made a piece that's kind of similar to recursive music. I thought that 'secret' could be something hard to get to and I think the looping of the music illustrates that with the constant panning from left to right, and the constant looping, which kind of gives a feel of something being mysterious and far away.

I used the Akebono Scale, which is a type of Japanese scale since the image is Lake Biwa, a lake in Japan, and I also added 2 drone notes which are played on strings throughout the piece to be a 'floor' (get it? sea floor, floor) to the piece, and the layers of piano on top represent the swirling and ever changing waters above the sea floor.

It's a good piece, and uses unconventional modes nicely, but takes quite a while to buildup... would've preferred if the faster piano arpeggios at 3:33 were introduced a bit sooner in the piece.

Developer

I think I could have done it so the faster arps had a very slow crescendo up to 3:33 I think. Thank you for listening to my submission!

Really nice vibe, it's quite fun to listen through. Nice work.

Fun track, I thought there were a lot of great moments. I like the introduction of the piano part leading into that high melody at 2m50 the most. I also liked the drone sound, it would of been sick to hear it move or swell more. I think something you executed very well is writing great layers that work well together. Great job on this!

Thank you! I experimented a lot more with panning and different settings on every piano sound for this submission so I'm glad to hear that it had an effect!

Great build-up. Piano sounding cool. Very sad and melancholic vibes. From the 2:30 minute mark I felt some singing voice could work great on top of your track. Very beautifully layered track. Very low volume. Had to rise my system volume to almost 40 when I usually listen to stuff at 15. Loving the tastefulness and the mix and the panning is well done and balanced all around. When things might start to get repetitive, new ideas appear to keep the flame of interest alive. In general the background drones are at the proper place to not be disturbing, but I might have some issues with the sudden appearance and panning of the slowly buzzing one at 2:05 to the left. I am not feeling a strong connection to the theme, specially the "lake" part but the track does have some mysterious and contemplative vibes to it, so I guess it could somehow fit with the general atmosphere suggested by the prompt.

Thank you! If I'm being honest, this was quite a hastily thrown together submission so to not get a 2 is very cool! Thank you for all your feedback and for rating and listening to my submission!

Very simple piece, I like the very slow buildup and arps going on, beautiful moments. Of course as mentioned below the main issue is the track is extremely low in volume around -20 db overall,  you have waaaay enough headroom to crank that up no problem !

Developer

Ah that makes sense. I panicked just before submission and decreased the volume quite a bit. Lesson learned from this submission: don't do anything on impulse!

Very nice! Sounds like Deathdream, which I really like. Very interesting composure that it's a bit hard to hear, yet at the same time, it is easy to hear what Instruments were used... You did a very good job making this Song sound Ambient!

Thank you! I was making this with the phrase 'music that's ignorable yet interesting' in my mind the whole time so I was thinking a lot about if this would be too distracting if I was playing a game, or studying or reading listening to this.

Well, as I like to say, at least you made the attempt! Anyways, you're welcome.
