it's kinda nice, but not sure why I need to wait for lives in early access game

also I wasn't sure if every step mattered or if I basically could have been rolling moves indefinitely, that's coz I did limited testing

there was lot of explanation at the beginning, but I felt like I didn't need all of it to start playing, that's just a thought that some of that friction could be maybe delayed

will appreciate if you'll have time to test my game

Thanks a lot for playing and for the honest feedback!

Lives: the wait is there for two reasons. The game is meant to become a full release, but above all it's an invitation to step away from the screen for a while and go live real life: the maze will wait for you. Still, I get that while it's in early access it can get in the way for someone who's just trying it out. I'll think about it.

Steps: they do matter. The total you take is compared to the level's par, and staying close to it is one of the requirements for 3 stars. Clearly I need to make that more visible.

Tutorial: you can skip it, but I'll consider moving some of the explanations later on.

I played Memo Dungeon: the 3D version looks much better, and the music and sound effects are good. The guide is well done. One thing: once an attack started, it wasn't clear to me how to get out of it.

thanks, it probably looks better but adds navigation challenge on top, you can't really get out of an attack, you either win or lose, but you are not the first to point that out, if you were to flee you would find out you just need to re-enter a similar situation but I will think of something to do here

if it's just a pause and not upcoming monetization then I don't know, I'd try to build an addictive game first then add digital wellbeing

I tried it one more time, some of the spikes - wait until you can move I figured out, the one before floor exit killed me, I also got disoriented once and started going back, but it's a maze, but kinda like it, just need to wait 30min again

Developer

Thanks for giving it another go! On the spikes: there's no timing to wait for. A trap only hurts you if your last step of the turn lands on it; walking across it with steps left is always safe. The fact that it wasn't clear tells me I need to explain it better in the game itself.

Fair point on building the fun first. The lives timer is part of the design, but I'll keep your feedback in mind while it's in early access.

On Memo Dungeon: makes sense that fleeing would just lead to a similar fight. Maybe just making it explicit (e.g. "no escape — win or lose") would already help.
