Pretty pumped for this one. I’ve been building my first solo game, Heroes Never Died, a dark-fantasy JRPG in Unreal Engine, and this jam landed at a hilariously perfect time.
The project started as a rough experiment shortly before the jam window while I was still learning the tooling, but most of the actual contiguous game has come together during the last couple weeks. We’ve now got a playable Chapter 1 and are moving into heavy polish.
I’m basically directing a tiny AI studio at this point: Claude and GPT/Astra work in parallel on separate parts of the project, with Higgsfield, Blender, 11-labs, Reaper, Whisper, Topaz, and a growing pile of custom tooling to show off feeding into Unreal.
It’s still rough in places, especially characters and animation, but the production speed has gotten kind of absurd and it’s already more game than I’ve ever built.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is doing. This jam feels extremely aligned with the weird human + AI development experiment my desktop has turned into. XD
