Just to clarify a few things regarding the replies to my post:

First, I only check the game’s progress here on Itch.io and occasionally on Twitter. I don't use other platforms. Expecting regular players to hunt for crumbs of information about Jerry's past bugs or development history across closed Discords is exactly what I meant by broken communication. If it’s important context, it belongs in the official devlogs on the main platform. Even Pastelle admitted that relying on Twitter and Discord was a mistake.

Also, regarding the notion that the developers "can just take 30 years or abandon the project tomorrow and owe us nothing"—once a project involves a paid tier like Subscribestar and financial backing from the community, it stops being a casual, no-stakes hobby in someone's spare time. Real money is involved, which means there is a basic level of professional responsibility and respect expected toward the people who fund and support the game.

Second, some people seem to be actively looking for negativity in my words while completely ignoring the facts. I explicitly said that I respect the developers, understand how painful hand-drawn animation is, and am ready to wait for a quality product. I am not a hater; I am a passionate player who cares about the game's management.

The fact that my original comment received over 25+ upvotes shows that I’m definitely not alone in this. The community's patience was wearing thin. Honestly, my feedback was highly constructive and polite—if I hadn't spoken up, someone else eventually would have, and likely in a much ruder, less respectful way.

I’m glad Pastelle understood the core issue and is already making positive changes on Twitter and here. At the end of the day, we all want the same thing—for this game to be the best it can be.

At this point, trying to argue against my post means arguing against both the developer's own decision and the vast majority of the fanbase at the same time.

I can understand some hesitancy because there are a lot of people who hate to hate and have no idea how much of a time sink creating assets can be.

That said, I'm fine with a slow, even glacial (heh) release schedule, but if I'm donating to a project I expect at least one communication a month at minimum, without having to go trawl through some closed-off Discord somewhere for dev comments.
