The tutorial is so confusing because each task has 2 parts : part 1 is placing the structure and part 2 placing roads/conveyor/worker. But once i placed the structure, before i can do anything about the road/conveyor/worker, part 2 text is gone and it is now a new task text. So, i have to photograph it with my phone because i cannot remember what it said before. Better to separate them into two or three part : placing structure, placing road, placing conveyor and assigning workers, before moving on to next task.

But the basic mechanic is solid. I myself made city builder in this jam, and i know how hard to pull it right.  Btw, i am surprised by how many city builder games in this jam. Maybe the 14 days jam time encouraged people to take the risk.  Once you establish the basic like this game, it will be easy to expand upon anything. Hope the game will improve because it is a solid game.

Good submission and good luck to you devs!!

very difficult to really figure out how to play, I wanted to treat it like factorio but got confused as i couldn’t place belts or rotate objects, the part after the first furnace i was quite stumped at what the tutorial was asking of me.

But I love you attempted to elaborate on this genre, as i do like these games a lot, and its great to have a visual world made by such a young artist, your son should be proud. I would honestly have loved to just be a little one of his dudes, and go exploring the world. I imagine trying to make a game like this is probably a mammoth task!

What an amazing experience doing a game jam with your son! Really inspiring, as a father of two myself. The art is charming and the music fits well (the boss music definitely scared me for a second because I was in such a cozy mood!).

It took me a bit to figure it out, but after a while, I got into it.

Overall, great submission! Congrats on finishing and submitting in time!

The art is really cute, definitely the highlight of the game!

This is a really large scope game to try to pull off in two weeks and while there is a lot of UX, game feel and details that are missing, what is here functions well and effectively shows the vision of what you were building. Great job!

yeah my son made the artwork, 30mins a night for a week.

its crazy how 3-4 hours of a 12 year olds time looks nicer than the AI art lol

Finally something with hand drawn sprites <3

My queue all evening has been almost nothing but AI and asset flips. You got no idea how much I appreciate that right now.

Took me a while to figure out that you can send in minions into buildings manually, and don't have the rely on them finding their way there myself. Beyond that I really appreciate the indepth guide/tutorial.

My mate and I, we also made a real time strategy game with little root folk and mushroom creatures collecting berries ( bit less kid friendly mayhaps ), and we struggled trying to convey complex / convoluted building and recruitment processes. I think we had a lot of people bounce off early due to lack of direction. Playing yours, we propably should have done something similar with having a tutorial message that doesn't progress until you actually completed the step succesfully. Live and learn.
