How did you interpret the themes?
GENRE COLLISION: Haine combines bingo with a turn-based deck-building roguelike. Cards let the player attack, defend, roll numbers, and influence which numbers appear. Completing rows, columns, or diagonals on a persistent combat board activates the sigils assigned to those lines. The same card decision therefore changes both immediate survival and the board’s future payoffs. Drafted cards, persistent Contracts, relics, and route choices turn bingo from a separate minigame into the engine of the build.

After finishing the tutorial like 4 times i thought i was ready. But i died 3 times all at the forth battle. No HP refill (permanent damage) means it is hard to heal. There are a healing inn but that is afer the first or second battle, which usually you don't need to heal, because you usually are in 100% battle. Battle 3 will empty half your HP. and battle 4 will finish what battle 3 started. I am willing to learn the power creep in this game though :) I think this game is well designed and well polished. It is hard to get into, but once you get hang of if, it is easy to sink time in. Good result for 2 week of a job. Hope there are more polish in the future like animated button, sfx, attack vfx, stretch and squash, lighning and reflection of magic bullet, etc. You rock, dev!
Loved the game, but I didn't realize that the system of cards was working in a Bingo like way until I read the description of the Genre Collision
Thank you for playing, McKinley! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for pointing that out. The cards roll numbers onto the Soul Ledger, and completing a row, column, or diagonal activates that line's sigil. I wanted those bingo lines to become part of the combat strategy, but that connection should be clearer in the game itself. Your feedback helps me see where the introduction needs work. Thanks again!
Can you give basic instruction how to play the game and what is the winning condition? I am unfortunately not familiar with bingo.
Thanks for trying the game, Dolan! I could have made the basics clearer. You don't need any prior bingo experience—here's a quick guide:
1. Each turn, spend mana to play cards from your hand. Strike damages an enemy, Guard gives you Block against incoming damage, and Lucky Call rolls extra numbers. Check the enemy's forecast to decide when to defend.
2. When a rolled number matches a number on your 5×5 Soul Ledger, that square is marked automatically. Mark all five squares in a horizontal row, vertical column, or diagonal to complete a bingo line. This activates the sigil equipped to that line, giving you a combat bonus. Each line can activate once per battle.
3. When you're done playing cards, click End turn (or press E). The enemies act, then you get fresh mana and a new hand.
The winning condition is to defeat the enemies by reducing their HP to zero while keeping your own HP above zero, then follow the map and defeat the final boss to finish the journey. Completing a bingo line helps you win battles; you don't need to fill the entire board.
I recommend starting with Practice battle from the title screen, and the Guide is there for reference too. Thanks for asking—this is helpful feedback on the introduction!
Bingo as a spellbook is a brilliant collision with the card battler. Every Strike rolling numbers into my Soul Ledger made even a basic attack feel like progress, and burning both Lucky Calls to jump to 8 sealed with one row a single cell short had me leaning in for the next roll. The pixel art and the whole gothic presentation are gorgeous.
Thank you for playing, Jason! I love hearing about that near-complete row after both Lucky Calls. That 'one more roll' tension is a big part of what I hoped the Soul Ledger would bring to combat, so I'm happy it landed for you. Thanks for sharing that moment, and for the kind words about the art and atmosphere!
Really impressive presentation! The pixel art is beautiful and the whole game feels extremely polished, from the character animations to the UI and atmosphere. I especially love the idea of turning bingo into an actual combat mechanic — combining cards, the Soul Ledger and enemy forecasts makes it feel very different from the usual card battler. Haine is also an adorable protagonist! There is clearly a lot of care behind this game. Great work!
Thank you so much for playing and for such a thoughtful comment! I'm really happy you enjoyed the atmosphere and Haine herself. Making the bingo board part of the combat decisions was the idea I most wanted to explore, so it's lovely to hear that the cards, Soul Ledger, and enemy forecasts came together for you. Thanks for taking the time to notice all those details!
Very interesting concept! I don't think I have ever seen a bingo mechanic used like this before, great stuff!
Thank you for playing! I'm glad the bingo twist caught your interest. I wanted each card choice to help you survive now while also setting up a satisfying bingo payoff later. Really happy you enjoyed the concept!
