Aetheria: Shards of the Void continues to grow.
Over the last few days, we’ve been working on several areas of the game at the same time: combat, classes, progression, PvP, creatures, visual quality and the world itself.
Here’s what’s new.
🏹 The Archer joins Aetheria
A brand-new playable class is being introduced: the Archer.
The Archer is designed as a true ranged physical class, using bows instead of swords or shields, with dedicated attacks, animations and abilities.
The goal is to create a completely different combat rhythm compared to the Guardian and Mage: positioning, range and movement will matter much more.
🧙 Mage movement improvements
The Mage received additional work on its movement animations.
Running speed has been aligned with the Guardian’s base movement speed, while several animation frames have been adjusted to make movement feel smoother and reduce the “sliding” effect while running.
Combat effects and spell animations are also being polished to make magic feel more powerful and visually satisfying.
👹 Creature & NPC visual overhaul
We’ve started revisiting the creatures found throughout Aetheria.
Several monsters — especially those found inside the Ten-Floor Tower — are being improved to achieve cleaner sprites, better animations and a more consistent visual style.
Lumengate is also receiving attention.
NPCs are being redesigned so that the city feels populated by actual individuals rather than repeated versions of the same character.
🐾 Pet progression is getting deeper
Pets are becoming much more than cosmetic companions.
Each pet now has its own appropriate food used for progression. A turtle, for example, obviously won’t eat the same thing as every other creature.
Pet rarity also matters: rarer companions are significantly harder to obtain.
Upgrading high-rarity pets is intentionally designed as a long-term progression system — reaching the highest upgrade levels should require dedication, materials and time.
A new side quest is also being introduced to properly explain the companion system to new players.
👑 The Throne of Aetheria
The persistent PvP territory system is receiving major improvements.
The battlefield surrounding the Throne is being redesigned around a much larger open field, with the central fortress becoming the true focal point of the map.
The conquest system is also being refined so that entering and holding the capture area correctly starts the conquest process.
The idea remains simple:
Hold the throne. Defend it. Become Sovereign.
But keeping it may be much harder than taking it.
⚖️ Loot & progression balancing
Progression has also been adjusted.
We want finding valuable equipment to actually feel exciting.
Because of this:
- General equipment drops are being reduced.
- Mythic equipment is becoming significantly harder to obtain.
- High-rarity items should no longer feel like something you find after only a few hours of play.
- Experience gained from monsters from level 25 onward has been reduced.
- Upgraded high-rarity equipment will provide more meaningful improvements.
Inventory management should become more deliberate, while rare discoveries become much more memorable.
🌀 The Infinite Well
The mysterious Infinite Well has appeared in Lumengate.
This new dungeon begins beneath the city and leads players deeper into increasingly dangerous encounters.
It features its own environment, enemies, progression and dedicated loot rewards.
And, as the name suggests…
Nobody really knows how deep it goes.
🌍 A world that keeps evolving
Aetheria is still actively evolving.
We are continuously improving animations, maps, enemies, progression systems, PvP, classes and the small details that make the world feel alive.
The objective is not simply to add more content.
It is to make every system connect with the others and turn Aetheria into a world where exploration, progression, PvP, equipment, companions, clans and discovery all matter.
There is still a lot more coming.
See you in Lumengate. ⚔️
