Aetheria – Shards of the Void has moved to a new official domain:

https://www.aetheriammorpg.online/

The new address will now be the main home for the game, including access to the game, rankings, news and future updates.

The previous address will gradually redirect players to the new domain, so nothing will be lost.

This is another small but important step in making Aetheria more accessible, recognizable and ready for future growth.

See you in Lumengate!

Aetheria: Shards of the Void continues to grow.

Over the last few days, we’ve been working on several areas of the game at the same time: combat, classes, progression, PvP, creatures, visual quality and the world itself.

Here’s what’s new.

🏹 The Archer joins Aetheria

A brand-new playable class is being introduced: the Archer.

The Archer is designed as a true ranged physical class, using bows instead of swords or shields, with dedicated attacks, animations and abilities.

The goal is to create a completely different combat rhythm compared to the Guardian and Mage: positioning, range and movement will matter much more.

🧙 Mage movement improvements

The Mage received additional work on its movement animations.

Running speed has been aligned with the Guardian’s base movement speed, while several animation frames have been adjusted to make movement feel smoother and reduce the “sliding” effect while running.

Combat effects and spell animations are also being polished to make magic feel more powerful and visually satisfying.

👹 Creature & NPC visual overhaul

We’ve started revisiting the creatures found throughout Aetheria.

Several monsters — especially those found inside the Ten-Floor Tower — are being improved to achieve cleaner sprites, better animations and a more consistent visual style.

Lumengate is also receiving attention.

NPCs are being redesigned so that the city feels populated by actual individuals rather than repeated versions of the same character.

🐾 Pet progression is getting deeper

Pets are becoming much more than cosmetic companions.

Each pet now has its own appropriate food used for progression. A turtle, for example, obviously won’t eat the same thing as every other creature.

Pet rarity also matters: rarer companions are significantly harder to obtain.

Upgrading high-rarity pets is intentionally designed as a long-term progression system — reaching the highest upgrade levels should require dedication, materials and time.

A new side quest is also being introduced to properly explain the companion system to new players.

👑 The Throne of Aetheria

The persistent PvP territory system is receiving major improvements.

The battlefield surrounding the Throne is being redesigned around a much larger open field, with the central fortress becoming the true focal point of the map.

The conquest system is also being refined so that entering and holding the capture area correctly starts the conquest process.

The idea remains simple:

Hold the throne. Defend it. Become Sovereign.

But keeping it may be much harder than taking it.

⚖️ Loot & progression balancing

Progression has also been adjusted.

We want finding valuable equipment to actually feel exciting.

Because of this:

  • General equipment drops are being reduced.
  • Mythic equipment is becoming significantly harder to obtain.
  • High-rarity items should no longer feel like something you find after only a few hours of play.
  • Experience gained from monsters from level 25 onward has been reduced.
  • Upgraded high-rarity equipment will provide more meaningful improvements.

Inventory management should become more deliberate, while rare discoveries become much more memorable.

🌀 The Infinite Well

The mysterious Infinite Well has appeared in Lumengate.

This new dungeon begins beneath the city and leads players deeper into increasingly dangerous encounters.

It features its own environment, enemies, progression and dedicated loot rewards.

And, as the name suggests…

Nobody really knows how deep it goes.

🌍 A world that keeps evolving

Aetheria is still actively evolving.

We are continuously improving animations, maps, enemies, progression systems, PvP, classes and the small details that make the world feel alive.

The objective is not simply to add more content.

It is to make every system connect with the others and turn Aetheria into a world where exploration, progression, PvP, equipment, companions, clans and discovery all matter.

There is still a lot more coming.

See you in Lumengate. ⚔️

— Aetheria: Shards of the Void

Aetheria just got a lot bigger!

A brand-new explorable marine region is now available: the Ether Tides Archipelago.

For the first time, you can leave the mainland behind, take control of a boat, and sail across a vast open sea filled with islands, enemies, secrets, treasures, and new adventures.

⛵ Set Sail

Speak with the Harbormaster in the Nexus and choose Navigate to begin your journey.

Once at sea, your character takes control of a boat and you are free to explore the archipelago.

Navigation has been designed to feel smooth and responsive, with light inertia and full directional movement.

Approach an island and you can disembark directly from its coastline — no fixed docks required.

🏝️ Explore a Living Archipelago

The new marine region contains islands of different sizes scattered throughout the sea.

Some are large areas made for exploration and combat, while others are small isolated islands hiding something valuable.

You may find:

  • Hidden treasure
  • Rare resources
  • Marine materials
  • Secret locations
  • Enemies unique to the islands
  • Mini-boss encounters
  • Special events
  • Exclusive rewards

Not every island will tell you what is waiting there.

Sometimes you will simply have to sail toward the horizon and find out.

💰 Treasure Hunting

Exploration is one of the main focuses of the new region.

Treasure and valuable resources can be found throughout the archipelago, rewarding players who leave the obvious routes and search the smaller islands.

Some discoveries can also be repeated through daily activities and events.

⚔️ Danger on the Islands

The sea itself is a safe navigation zone.

The islands are not.

Enemies inhabit many parts of the archipelago, and some islands are home to powerful mini-bosses guarding valuable rewards.

PvP can also take place on the islands, creating another layer of risk while exploring and hunting for treasure.

Dying in island PvP will not cause you to lose your equipment, and you will return to the Nexus.

🚢 Boats and Progression

The first boat is only the beginning.

Different boat models can be unlocked as you progress, including larger vessels designed for groups of players.

Party leaders will eventually be able to travel together with their companions aboard the same vessel.

Marine materials found while exploring can also be used to improve the appearance of your boats.

Boat progression is focused on visual customization rather than combat power, so exploration remains fair for everyone.

🗺️ A New Way to Explore Aetheria

This update is not just another map.

It introduces an entirely new way to travel through the world.

Instead of moving from portal to portal, you can now choose a direction, sail across the open sea, spot an island in the distance, land wherever you want, and discover what is waiting there.

And this is only the beginning.

More islands, secrets, events, enemies and marine content will continue to arrive in future updates.

🌊 The Ether Tides are waiting.

Gather your party.

Find a boat.

Choose a direction.

And sail.

CLAN WARS

The Clan War Ground is a real place: fifty plots, five sectors, one castle on each. Whoever has raised walls there can be seen from across the field.

To declare war you need two things — your own land, and theirs. The challenge stands for 24 hours; if the other clan takes it up, you fight for thirty minutes.

One point per enemy brought down. Most points wins, level scores draw. Falling costs you nothing: you get up in your own courtyard, at full health, and walk straight back in. In a half-hour war what you lose isn't gold — it's time.

Your own land is sacred ground. Inside your walls nobody can hit you, and you can't hit anyone either. No snipers on the balcony.

Every ten seconds, enemy positions light up red on your minimap. Knowing where they are is part of the war.

What's left at the end are the numbers, and they're public: 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and every kill goes onto the clan's record, in the rankings, where anyone can read it. Then those two clans can't meet again for 24 hours. A rematch is something you wait for.

Interesting!

Aetheria – a 2D online fantasy RPG I've been working on

Hey everyone!

I've recently published the first playable version of Aetheria, a 2D online fantasy RPG focused on exploration, combat, character progression and multiplayer.

You start your adventure in the Nexus, a central hub connected to different areas through ancient portals. From there you can explore new regions, fight enemies, complete quests, find equipment and gradually improve your character.

There are currently three playable classes:

🛡️ Guardian – sword and shield, focused on durability and close combat

🏹 Aether Ranger – ranged combat, mobility and bows

🔮 Void Mage – magical attacks and powerful abilities

The game currently includes multiplayer, quests and NPCs, equipment and loot, character progression, upgrades, enemies and bosses, with more areas and systems being developed.

It's still an early version, so I'm especially interested in honest feedback about:

  • how understandable the beginning/tutorial is
  • combat and movement
  • UI and controls
  • graphical consistency
  • progression
  • anything that feels confusing, frustrating or unfinished

You can play it here:

I'd really appreciate hearing what works and, especially, what you think needs improvement.

Thanks for checking it out!

Aetheria — Explore. Fight. Progress. Together.
