It took me quite a while to notice the gauge on the left side of the screen! I’d just been picking choices without really thinking about it. (That’s not a UI issue, by the way—I was just tired and completely missed it.)
That said, I’m still not entirely sure what exactly causes the gauge to change. Maybe I’m just not very observant, though.
I did feel that the presentation was a little simple in places, which was a bit of a shame. I think using a wider variety of sounds could help a lot. In particular, adding SE like footsteps would probably make the game feel a bit richer and more immersive.
It was a good game! I'm looking forward to your next work!
I UNDERSTAND WHAT BEHOLDER MEANS IN THE TITLE NOW LMAO.
Very interesting game! Definitely caught me by surprise to see their other works include Alex as well as a grown woman. I loved the UI and gameplay mechanics, having played through it several times to try and see how to get a different ending. I love the fact that the "nice" options get greyed out at the end to really drive home Alex's anger and frustration.
I did run into a problem where the game would not progress past the ending screen in my three playthroughs as a heads up! Couldn't figure out how to get out of it LOL
Nunu created a game that went in a different direction and was a powerful message. As a person who play tested the game, there were moments where I really felt my heart ache. Knowing Alex went through this really hurts. It was a unique idea for sure. You see her struggle with all the unwanted attention. Just glad to see in CBTL she gets to be herself. One great moment, I got to kick Brent in the nuts.
Interesting mechanics, and interesting experience in relation to one of the dev's other games in terms of the story it tells.
I consider this a canon C0 Alex story... We don't see much of their lives outside of the cabin, but they do all have their own stories. We really just see them at their best.
