Description
An ambient track that focusses especially on the calm and slightly mysterious aspects of a secret lake. Should be in E phrygian, but it contains a mode change.

A nice track, but it feels a bit too upbeat and happy for ambient music. The synth bass in particular doesn't seem like it sits with the rest of the mix too well. Perhaps a more mellow bass might have been a better option.
I think some pads in the background or drone tones might also help - the main instrument choice helped out a little bit, but I think more mellow instruments like pads (especially using them with drawn out drone tones) could've helped a bit more. Subtle touches and uses of certain percussion instruments, such as the triangle, could help as well. Hope this helps.

Developer

This definitely helps, thank you! I kind of went for a more wondrous mystery instead of a dark mystery, which is probably why the track is a bit too upbeat. I'm currently trying to find some better plugins and instruments, do you have any advice on how to find some?

Chill track, I like the Mario 64 kinda synth,  sounds very retro, first track I,ve heard going into this direction

Simple but really effective. And the mix was really balanced. It sound like a nintendo DS game. Good sneaky melodic minor passage.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad it came out well and I'm hoping to increase the complexity in future tracks.

Very interesting Bell Rythms & Bass Plucks! It's a pretty interesting take to Ambient Music.

Developer

Thanks, I was experimenting for a long time with the both the Bell and Bass. You said it was a pretty interesting take to Ambient Music. Do you think the track is still ambient enough though?

Submitted

TBH, it's borderline Ambient, but I'd still call it an Ambient Soundtrack in some setting. Also, you're welcome!

its simple but good, the quality of the plugins are kinda bad but it gives it a retro vibe, cool

you should have added some more instruments to that

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I'll definitely try adding more instruments in the future! I am currently looking into getting some better plugins... Do you have any advice on how to find some?

I thought you had some cool changes as the track progressed. I liked the arpeggio lead you wrote a lot, would of loved to hear some sub-bass or a pad along with it! Nice work on this overall.

I can't view it for some reason, unfortunately... Perhaps you can fix that when you have the time, please?

Submitted

Seems like it's fixed, it worked for me just now.

Developer(+1)

Should be fixed, I just forgot to set it to public. Thanks!
