We talked a bit during the stream but over all great movement tech! Only thing was my mention of some leeway when if comes to smacking the ground with the shield kind of like cayote jumping in platformers since it did feel like I was slightly off at times and that would be helpful.

Thank you for popping by stream!

Once the game has some sounds oooh baby will it be hella satisfying!

This game has a lot of potential! I would have loved to see enemies to shield bash into, but I see those are going to be in a future update. The lack of music made me add some to the stream--it will not play in the video below, as that's a setting I use in OBS to evade copyright dings. I could see a DNB/cyberpunk, or darksynth soundtrack. I streamed Darksynth from The80sGuy on youtube for the music, and that genre fit quite well.

Controls--oof. This game is action heavy and doesn't have full controller support, so at times I was using one hand on my controller and one on the mouse, which seemed to work fine. I'd love to see full controller support. I have wrist issues where action heavy games using keyboard/mouse cause me pain. The mechanic of bouncing off your shield backwards to go FLYING is unique, and quite fun at times (WHEEEEEE!), but can mess you up when trying to leap/launch over pits or obstacles. I had a ton of difficulty in the second section with the yellow lasers.

Heya RoboRob :D

We really appreciate the feedback! We definitely have plans to add enemies, music, general audio, and UI elements in the future, and we’ll definitely be looking into the metal/cyberpunk style of music for our game!!!

As for controller support, it is in, but we have not completed it yet, as we have mainly been focusing on mouse and keyboard controls as the main way to play the game. However, we will be fixing and refining it so it works properly and better for controller players in the future!!

Thanks again RoboRob for playing our game!!

I’m a big fan of movement shooters, and I like the premise, although I have to admit that I did struggle a bit with this one. Here’s the recording: https://youtu.be/MwzoYsIJO_I

Some points of feedback:

- I had trouble maintaining the momentum. I didn't notice the tutorial-part that you could bunny hop with the shield.

- And it was a bit hard to gain height with momentum, since you need to stand still 3s on the ground to get the launch move.

- I can 100% see the potential if you get to tweak the way you can chain moves into each other!

Hey E.T.C.Lundberg :)

We really appreciate you trying out our game!! The ability Surge Charge (holding right click) is mainly used to gain big speed or distance if you ever stop or crash. You don't really want to use it as the main way to maintain momentum because you always have to stop before you can use it again. The best way to maintain momentum is by launching (pressing left click) or by doing multiple B-Hops (pressing right click).  You might of missed the tutorial pop-ups that explain those mechanics.

We really appreciate it again!! Thanks for giving our game a shot, and we hope to see you try our game out again soon :D

  • Youtube Link / Twitch Link
  • Graphics : Fine for the most part, but there's obviously a lot of kinks that need to be ironed out.
  • GUI :Mostly absent, The Speedometer definitely could do with some sprucing up by the full game release.
  • Performance : Fine (UE5 jank aside)
  • Music / Sfx :
    • Music : Absent
    • SFX : Absent
  • Gameplay :  Not really my cuppa tea but I could see this being greatly appealing to speedrunners / parkour enthusiasts once refined.
  • Misc Issues :
    • In a few spots the kill planes are offset
    • There's some jank on shield slapping sometimes , it just won't register seemingly
    • Wall grind (run) also feel a bit jank and can end up getting the player killed unless done 'correctly'
      • Shield slapping feels like a better alternative for speed , control (and height retention)
    • Disable all screen messages to suppress
  • Notes :
    • Checkpoint locations will need to be refined , if they end up like the one near the end of the stream it's going to cause a LOT of frustration.
  • Final Thoughts : While this isn't exactly my cuppa tea on genre, I do think the idea is there and would be greatly appealing to some. Rather obviously with the demo in such an early state , most everything needs a bit of work so I didn't bother nitpicking.
