I don't mind the silly idea.
Visuals and sound are pretty decent for a jam.
I have to say though that the platforming and fighting were pretty rough. First noticeable issue is that jumping only happens when you let go of space. This is really counterintuitive for someone like me who has played lots of platforming games. It might be okay if there's a good reason for it, but there doesn't seem to be one in terms of gameplay mechanics around that. Also there's zero control over jump height. The map seems quite big, but it's unclear where to go, and I think I reached a dead end, there was a pit with a single worm in it. I tried for a whole minute to either get out or kill the worm, and I couldn't get out and the worm seemed invincible. Eventually I died and that was it.
IMO focusing on a single screen + enemy and making that good and fun by itself would help with this type of game,, more so than a huge level with enemy variety.
