There is something weird going on with the background, it shifts from left to right from one line of dialogue to the other.

And the audio levels of the recordings don't have a standard volume. So either you change the volume with each new character or you will only be able to hear some of them, if not you risk your ear drums. Sometimes the music is too loud (even after changing the settings), so I don't know what's up with that.

But those are the slight things to fix. The art is really nice to look at and I had fun with the mini mixology part of the game; so much fun that I wish there was more interactivity or visuals of the drink being made and what not.

This game is worth a try and I hope more people give it chance.

Hello! I'm one of the team on this one, asking so I can help :D

  1. Just checking, but are you moving the mouse when this happens? The game utilizes parallax scrolling of sprites and backgrounds as an intentional effect attached to mouse movement, and if it bothers you, we included an option to turn it off! However, if it's otherwise, we'll definitely try to look into why that's happening, and we'd like to know if this is for the web build or downloaded version!
  2. I appreciate the feedback on the audio levels; we are aware that things need to be equalized a lot more effectively (and I'm currently learning how, in order to work to do so)!

All said, I appreciate your grace with our little jam project, and I'm super glad you enjoyed the mixology portions. We're hoping to make a more complete version of Welcome to The Veil in the future, and the feedback on wanting more tactile presentation is extremely helpful. I hope you enjoyed your time with our girls and hopefully you'll give us a try again down the line!

No, I was playing on android. So me simply tapping the screen to get the next dialogue would make the screen shift to one side, the next tap to the other; despite it being on the same place.

Ah, that actually makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the feedback, that definitely has to do with how the parallax scrolling works. We'll look into how to fix this going forward, and I'm sorry it was disorienting for you!
EDIT: Currently, the only solution we have to this problem is to turn off parallax scrolling in the Preferences menu if you're on mobile. My apologies, the only other way to fix it on our end would be just to automatically do that for you.

Don't apologize! These are random little unexpected things that sometimes happen. I hope you guys don't have much trouble finding a fix.
