Okay, so this game kind of ROCKS

I played this on stream with a friend. We were focused on multiplayer games, so we largely ignored the tutorial and the solo stuff, so we could just jump into multiplayer - I want to apologize if you watch, because I imagine it's frustrating to see people skip over the tutorial of a puzzle game and then be confused... like that's fully our fault.

That being said, this game is really intuitive and easy to understand, even if you just skim the tutorial. It's also REALLY fun to play competitively. It gives the vibe of something easy to pickup like checkers, but with its own unique voice. REALLY fun to play!

The only thing i can think it suggest from what my friend and I played would be a rematch option - With smaller boards, the games could be kind of quick, and creating a new game required a bit of jumping through hoops. I  imagine it would have been easier if we had each other added as friends, though. Not a huge deal!

After a few warmup rounds, my friend and I played a game on the largest board we could, and it was INTENSE!! It also had the WILDEST COMEBACK at the very end which was devastatingly beautiful- I lost SO BAD but it was very satisfying to watch the circles all explode into each other. Really, REALLY good stuff.

Played the game here on stream around 36:30, and the most devastating loss of my life was around 1:08:30. What a gem!

Hey! With FQ9 ending soon, I wanted to let you know that I won't be able to cover your game until after the event. If you're okay with waiting, just keep the game on the event and I'll be getting around to it over the next couple of months or so. :)

Hello! Sure, no problem.

Hey Besinblack!
As you already know, I had quite a good time with your game! I wanted to write a few notes regarding your game for your reference, but I'm pretty sure you already got to most of it since you were actively involved during the stream.

  • First off, it took quite a while before I started getting to some of the more challenging stages in the campaign, but honestly, this allowed me to get the hang of the game more. There were a few stages that could be removed or reworked because they were a bit too easy, especially the ones so far into the game. Progression helps keep the game interesting, but also, getting hard too quickly can be too frustrating so I understand the need for balance.
  • As a colorblind player, the Red vs. Blue at the start works well. I think early on though, some clearly stand out patterns should be introduced as rewards first, just to make sure that colorblind challenged players like myself will be able to select something that keeps them comfortable with the gameplay as more colors get introduced and with multiplayer. I haven't looked yet but I definitely would like to see black and white pieces that have, like, a stone or marble look to them as a piece that I'd like to use. Basic Black and White are my go-to for playing it safe!
  • I know you are already on this, but more multiplayer maps and map sizes; I'd be interested in maps that kind of have some choke points. I guess for streamers' sake, a larger player count would be a fun and chaotic thing to have too, which would hopefully bring in more regular players.
  • The audio and music were comfortable and fitting for the game. Maybe consider the ability for players to select and change the way pieces sound when placed as an additional reward or unlockable.
  • I also mentioned how paper.io did various fun shapes as unlockables in the game to add a fun objective for players. I could imagine the pieces being other things like pie slices, burger or sandwich cuts, and various animal heads for the game to feel more personal to each player as they move on to multiplayer.

I loved how simple yet complex the game could be and being able to test concepts and strategies for winning. This was a really fun game, and I'd love to see how it evolves. I hope you continue to develop the game!
