This is a veeeeeery beautiful game. I mean, the menu is fantastic as is the interface itself completely personalized. The artwork of the characters, as well as that of the backgrounds is wonderful. The music and the sounds are right and well placed, all very engaging. The only flaw I found was the choice of the position of the dialogues, but that's my personal judgment. The thing that struck me the most is the transition of the incoming and outgoing menu, as well as the logos at the beginning, they may seem obvious things but they are details that I really appreciated.
This is a reeeeeally impressive entry - everything is so clean and cohesive and incredibly well-done! The UI is gorgeous, all the art is, and the story was really interesting! Also I am very endeared to Crow. Congratulations on such a fantastic job, team!
Thx ^^ Crow IS the best.
This was done so well! I really enjoyed the progression through the train and how the audio and visuals added to the experience :D (And of course Juno's the best)
I mean, who would look at that spinning tape in the thumbnail and expect the game to actually open with a stretched, warped tape soundtrack?
What’s even more impressive is that it never really feels like noise. You somehow managed to pull off the sound design perfectly. It keeps the horror atmosphere that fits this jam while never becoming unpleasant enough to interfere with the actual gameplay, and I think that’s genuinely impressive.
I also really liked the UI design. It reminded me of an old first-person JRPG. I understand why modern game companies don’t really use those movable dialogue windows anymore, but who can deny that they’re visually beautiful and intuitive?
And I loved all the little background details too, like the graffiti and advertisements scattered throughout the environments.
Lovely game! I'm always a sucker for liminal trains, and translating that into a cyberpunk setting felt really original, and worked great! As RandomDodo commented earlier, the reused 3d set was incredibly clever and worked great - especially for a series of train carriages. The characters throughout were all intriguing, and I especially loved interacting with the band near the end . . . very touchingly written. The character art we got similarly felt strong, and I liked the ambiguity of the ending I got. All in all a very complete-feeling experience with a really cool aesthetic. Big congrats to the whole team!
The sound design is awesome here. I loved how when talking to certain characters or in certain moments you could hear diegetic sounds from them. The environmental sounds of the train moving and the people in the train talking were also really cool. It all really immersed me. I also liked the sci-fi vibes you guys had going on. It was a really unique experience that still had quite a bit of horror. The music was unique and vibrant too, but still pretty tense. I liked how you were able to turn one 3D set piece into several unique feeling background with just some angle changes, lighting, and props. I thought that was really clever.
Thanks so much for playing. Glad you enjoyed it. Our audio people really kicked it out of the park ^^
The background was me trying to get any backgrounds in within the last two days, so we didn’t ship without. So glad they somewhat hold up ;)
This is absolutely awesome! Such an aesthetically satisfying experience across the board. The audio design is excellent. I liked how the music kept evolving throughout, and the ambient soundscapes where music was absent was so cool. The synthetic meowing from the cat was absolutely peak. The integration of so much music production jargon in to the narrative and script was also really enjoyable from a personal perspective. I hope you have plans to continue development because I'd absolutely love more of this. A complete audio-visual delight from start to finish. Fantastic work from everyone on the team, congratulations all! All the best :)
Thanks so much for playing and the kind words ^^
