To me it feels like the mechanics clash with the lore and each other. A big one is playing an animal that is famous for its almost unmatched endurance and having an extremely limited sprint. The guards, armed with guns, being dangerous because they're impossible to damage instead of being extremely lethal is another big lore/gameplay clash.
The biggest mechanical clash for me is that the wolf's attacks against the village itself feel extremely weak when compared with the constant pressure of multiple time limits. This encourages aggressively and persistently attacking. But trying to run in and destroy stuff gets punished by Terminator-like guards. The survival mechanics serve more to get in the way of the objective of messing with the village. The overall effect makes the "right" way of playing feel like a frustrating grind while working with the time limits is punished.
I feel like the game would be much better removing time limits, and making both the wolf and guards much more lethal. This feels like something that could be great, like the best parts of Untitled Goose Game combined with Arkham Asylum or Dishonored. Where you slowly tear apart everything that allows the village to function until the people give up and leave.
