Oh basically like an I.O game in that you direct/steer your character to your mouse position (only mouse is needed) or finger (mobile).
Then you hold left-click to attack characters outlined in Red, but release left click if you must regenerate health (just be careful as you sacrifice your ability to attack/defend yourself).
