Is it just me or do we rarely see elves in video games?

And in most medias in general, most of the time when i look for games or comics or books on elves i have to look back what was done decades ago. Even in the last decade there is nothing to be found.

In the meantime all other big fantasy races get showered with content every years and sometimes months. Why are elves being ignored and forgotten like that?

Huh?

Now that’s fun. Both OP and the other OP had 1-day old accounts when the respective posts were made.

are there no normal people here? Why is everyone obsessed by posts on elves? It's really really disturbing...

Why are you obsessed with creating fake accounts to make posts about elves?

There seems to be a lot of posts about elves, are they all made by the same person perchance?

Sorry if there are any repeats, I'm doing this on mobile

~~You said something that turned out to be completely true, proving your intuition and reasoning were spot-on. When you voiced that specific thought, it may have seemed like a bold claim or a quiet observation at the time, but reality quickly aligned to validate every single word. The facts surfaced, the situation unfolded just as you predicted, and the outcome left no doubt that your assessment was accurate. It is a satisfying feeling when careful thought and sharp insight cut through the noise and hit the exact truth of a matter.~~

i'm more concerned about the fact you are obsessed with tracking down all posts on elves, do you have nothing better to do? No matter people will still keep talking about elves

It took one search in the General Discussion page and about 2 minutes to take screenshots and crop them.

But also, dude, I am on your side. It's a little weird that you keep making all these profiles to fabricate a vocal demand for elf games, but I'm all for more games that feature elves. Also, I'm very active in the itch.io forums and your posts stick out because they're interesting. It's not like I just barely noticed your existence

Hobgoblins (as distinct from goblins) are rare. Slaad are rare. Hobbits are rare. Treants are rare.

Elves are not rare. They’re the third-most common fantasy race after humans and dwarves, and the only reason dwarves beat them is that is because of Dwarf Fortress and its followers.

Look, as someone who loves Elves myself, let me just ask this -- why not host an Elf-related game jam with prizes to entice people to make more games centered around Elves?

Having an incentive might encourage more people to make games with Elves and Elven culture in them. Can't trap as many insects with vinegar than you can with honey.

Or maybe also put out some nice free Elven assets out that devs can use and make new games with. That might also help.

If we truly want Elves to be seen and heard, we need to make it easier for others to do so.

there are already tons of assets on elves, people are just afraid to make content on them for some reason

I don't think there are that many. I went to trawl for free Elf assets on the assets page, but found very few of them.

I'm a bit more fortunate that I can draw my own characters and photobash my own backgrounds if need be. Maybe I'll put some of the Elves and Elven-inspired backgrounds out as I build my project so others can use them too. Who knows, maybe someone might use them with the other existing assets and come up with something I get to play too. 🥰

If you want a game or games or other stuff about elfs, why don't make them yourself?

Not trying to sound like a douchebag. But seriously, some other creators may not have ideas/inspiration to create something related, others may not like people asking for stuff out of the blue (specially if expected for free), and who knows more.

But if you want elfs in games. Perhaps you  can try to make them yourself (or with help of others from the same elf-related niche.I remember there was another user with the same king of post). There are several easy to use game engines if you lack coding skills and I'm sure that there may be free assets you can do and some hobbyist willing to give a small hand or sort doubts for free.
