WOAH, A NECROMANCER CLIMBING OUT OF A PIT TO GET HOME?! 💀🏠🔥

I really like how directly the game uses the theme the journey home literally starts from the bottom of a pit. The necromancer idea and the turn-based mechanics make for a really cool combination, and the art, music, and overall atmosphere give it a nice dark-fantasy personality. There’s definitely a solid game hiding in here!

The biggest thing I’d improve is the first few minutes of clarity. A short tutorial or clearer introduction to the actions, goals, and UI would make the mechanics much easier to understand, especially with the smaller text. Increasing the UI size and reducing some of the empty background space could also make the actual gameplay stand out more.

For a first game jam and only around 20 hours of development, this is a really cool achievement. You clearly have a strong foundation to build on!

REALLY NICE FIRST JAM ENTRY! 💀⚔️🔥 GOOD LUCK WITH THE JAM! 🎮✨

Looks great this game.

maybe ad some tutorial and work with bigger UI, the data is to small to read it well.

I think the mechanics are good but is hard to know what to do and even more if you can read well the info.

But still looks a great job, nice art, good audio and the code looks it works good with the decitions.

Nice entry, and good game

Good job on finishing your first gameJam ! Nice game need a little bit more explication in the beguennig but was fun when i understand how to play.

I think there is something really cool here.

The biggest problem I had is that the embed is too small to really see and I couldn’t find a full screen button or key. There’s a lot of text to this game, which isn’t a bad thing, but it makes the game almost impossible for me to understand.

But what I got out of it seems like there are some pretty unique and interesting turn based mechanics.

I would look at increasing the embed size or offering a downloadable version.

Very cool concept!

Arcane blast is overpowered! haha. This is what my final team looked like. Once I had 2 blue slimes, I mostly just used both of them to Arcane Blast the enemy and it usually only left me with 1 or 2 slimes left to pick off.

Also, at first, I didn't realise what I was doing and I kept attacking my own slimes. It's fun that you can do that, but this needs a bunch more feedback to clear things up for the player. As it stands, having no sounds to show your hits makes it difficult to know what you're actually doing, you have to pay attention to the health bars alone.

Also, the crosshair disappeared for me whenever I was aiming at an enemy, would be nice if it turned red or did something to show when you are targeting a valid target, instead of disappearing.

You're off to a good start with this. Add some attack animations & sound effects, fix the blurry text for the upgrade man and develop some more enemy types, and this could get even better.

I had some difficultly understand exactly what to do. I think there could be some real fun here but could use a little idiot proofing for me haha

Yeah sorry.  I wanted to do more with it.  Time crunch got me!

Cute art and music!

I was fairly confused for a while, the game could use some more clarity in the beginning. Also I'm a bit confused about the massive scale of the background if nothing happens on the top of the screen.

Very solid for a first game, you can be proud of your work!

Thank you so much for the kind words.  Being my first jam I definitely learned a lot.  I was playing a little of slay the spire today and I thought the same thing about my game. I have way too much empty space.
