Second Rise (browser, ~3 min): on a cold play, does the day-three choice cost you anything?

Second Rise is a short browser game about a baker with one scoop of starter left and three things that need it: a girl trying to reach a grandmother who no longer knows her, a young baker with a dead jar, and the shop's own tomorrow.

Day three is the current end; about three minutes on a phone. What I want is a cold read, no spoilers: who did you give the last scoop to, and what did it cost you? If the cost did not land, if the choice felt free, that is the bug I am hunting.

I will play yours cold in return and send one concrete fix, not a thumbs-up. Drop a link.

Used the starter in the girl's loaf. One afternoon with her grandmother felt worth it, even with no bread tomorrow. Happy to swap: https://kiilove.itch.io/number-pop

Hey, I came across Second Rise and saw that you’re looking for new players to try it out. I help indie developers promote their games and reach people outside their existing audience. I think there are a few simple ways to get more players discovering Second Rise. Would you be open to hearing what I have in mind?

Yes—I wanted a day four. I gave the last scoop to the girl, and the loaf bought her one afternoon with her grandmother while my jar stayed empty and the shop had nothing to rise tomorrow. I wanted to see how that cost carried forward.

One small UI stumble: I paused over “Keep the jar — bake for her.” I understood from the surrounding text that the starter goes into her loaf, but “Use the last scoop in her loaf” would make the trade clearer at a glance.

I’m with NextGenRunGames. Since you invited a playable game link in return, here’s our free browser preview of Spirestorm: https://nextgenrungames.itch.io/spirestorm. Its Steam page is Coming Soon and open for wishlists: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5308920/Spirestorm/?utm_source=itchio&utm_med...

Thanks for offering a cold play and a concrete fix!

The choice feels more meaningful when the player can clearly understand what they might lose either way. I think a small reaction or consequence after the decision could make the moment feel even stronger. Nice concept for a short browser game!
