Wow... this was sick. Easily my favourite. It was incredibly immersive and designed beautifully for the concept. You pulled this off really well. The ui, the sound, the gameplay, the fact that the player is involved in the creation - all of it supports the story perfectly. And you captured this feeling so effectively... You should feel proud !
Thank you so much. I have many plans for the game that I ran out of time to complete, not unlike the protagonist, the original build was made in 7 days.
There will be a huge update this month and likely many more to come.
It was an interesting story it really speaks to the struggles of being a game dev and making a project you're not really sure of.
However, the horror story I came up with in game about Foghorn Leghorn in a grocery store coming across rotisserie chickens in the deli section was so good it should have brought the in game character out of her creative slump.
Lol I bet it would have certainly helped her.
What a cool idea to make a game out of the well known jam struggle, I really loved the story telling. This game is kinda only a story simulator with some extra elements which I also really enjoyed (drawing some things) which sounds kind of boring, but the story telling and visuals were SO good that I got hooked to this much more than to most games I've played so far in this jam.
Really cool game! I only wish you joined earlier so you maybe could have added some more interactive elements like the drawing. I also think this kind of struggle that you're describing in the story kind of applies to many creative things that have to be finished within a given time limit. It works really well for the game jam like it already is, but you might catch an even bigger audience by trying to describe this struggle with art in general and deadlines. And then if you add more interactivity, this might become a very interesting game that many people can relate to!
Thank you :) this is an excellent comment that really inspires me to keep going! You can play it with a graphics tablet for slightly more immersive drawing. Just like in the story it is quite unfinished which is quite representative of the game itself. However I have a huge amount more to add and develop. There were a lot of features I ran out of time to complete but the general shape is there.
