Not quite understanding how to play this, cant save and everynight affection keeps reseting and i cant make enough money for some reason. maybe i0m just not understanding the gameplay

Hanta is probably starving! Satiety heavily affects other stats, so if you remember to feed him, his happiness will gradually raise as well, and then his affection will slowly and passively raise overnight as well.
It's a rough start, but the protagonist is very poor and doesn't get paid much, but things get easier as new the story progresses in future builds :]
