I'll be honest here. I like how concise this is, and the artwork is beautiful, but I'm not sure if this fits the "horror" aspect of the jam. If it does, it's extremely subtle and is subdued by the calm music playing throughout the novel. If I look at it in terms of a visual novel, it's a nice, little bite of a bigger picture. From a fragmented story, I can see the theme because of the multiple endings. But if I'm looking at it from a horror game aspect, I really don't know if it fits with the jam simply because it doesn't read as a horror game. With that being said, I do hope you continue working on it, especially for Dan's sake.

Thanks so much for the critique I really appreciate it :D Honestly we might have had trouble leaning into psychological horror without adding more work lol. It could also be the lack of scarier elements in the art. But we'll improve on it!

I do understand, and having made a visual novel hybrid myself in the past, I do know the work involved in crafting a story. I think the perfect place to start with that could be in the mortuary, especially with the description you have in that scene already. Psychological horror is based on how our minds interpret the environment, so playing with sound when the screen is pure black, or playing with light/shadows once the player can see the environment, might be a good way to go because it's a visual novel. Darkness is where anything can happen and where our fears and imaginations really run away from us, so with the mortuary in particular, I feel like you already have a good base to work with.

The advice is very appreciated! To be fair we were aware how lacking it was in portraying the horror aspects especially in the environment.  I also did wish to focus more on the mortuary in-game but time constraints had us cut off some parts. But we only have time from here so we'll be sure to apply this however we can :3

SO PRETTY ART!!!!!!! Lovely writing , story and setting. I played 2/3 endings, not quite sure how I could achieve the third one.
