Hello,

This port looks great but I can't play it as when I press button A, I immediately get a glitchy white screen in both Arcade and Home modes.

My setup: PAL Megadrive with NTSC 60 Hz mod, official 6-button controller, Mega Everdrive Pro with 26.0625 firmware.

Edit: Just updated firmware to the latest version (v26.0925) but the glitch is still there.

Hi, thanks for the detailed report, your setup info really helped.

I couldn't reproduce it in emulators, but I think I know what's happening. The game is 4 MB and also uses save memory for high scores and options. On some flash carts, the save memory can end up covering the second half of the ROM, which is exactly where all the level graphics live. That gives a fine title screen and a white, glitchy screen as soon as the game starts.

Could you try the test build I added (It's v1.7 with saving turned off (no high scores or options kept after power-off).

Two quick questions too:

  1. Does the white screen appear when the first level starts (right after the menu or the intro)?
  2. Did v1.6 behave the same way for you?

If the test build plays fine, I'll know exactly what to fix, and the real update will keep saving. Thanks!

Hello,

Just tested the v1.7 no save version and I'm still getting the same glitchy screen, now black then white.

Note: I deleted the save file created by the original v1.7 to avoid any conflict or issue.

And to answer your questions:

1. The glitchy screen used to appear only after pressing button A once Stage 1 started. Now with v1.7 no save test version, the glitchy screen  appears right away when Stage 1 starts and without pressing any button.

2. I didn't try v1.6 or any other version before 1.7.
