This was actually one of the first games I played during the jam. I’d say I played it pretty early on, but unfortunately, I only got around to leaving a comment now.

First of all, congratulations on another great game! I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: your style of mixing 3D and 2D always has such a unique charm to it. It’s really captivating, and I feel like it adds a lot of value to the art direction.

I’m really happy that you managed to create the game you envisioned, because pulling off an effect like this is incredibly difficult, especially during a game jam. I can relate to that myself, since my own game ended up being unfinished haha.

The gameplay was a lot of fun, especially because of all the different interactions we can have with the vehicles. The tricks were absolutely great too. They vaguely reminded me of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, which also has that same kind of vibe of interacting with the environment through tricks.

I also really liked the attention to detail in the environments, where you can see all kinds of little interactions and background scenes happening. It gives the game a huge sense of life. I feel like the gameplay could have benefited from having some random events like that happen on the road as well, such as traffic jams, pedestrians with broken-down cars in the middle of the road, and so on. But I know time is limited during a jam, and that would add quite a bit of extra complexity, especially since the core gameplay loop is already very solid.

Still talking about the gameplay, another thing I thought would be really cool would be having a radio in the car that lets you switch between different songs during the drive. I think that would add a huge amount of charm and immersion.

Another idea I had that I think could be really cool would be the ability to switch drivers during the journey, with each driver having their own perks, such as different tricks, better acceleration, higher scores, and so on. But again, these are just some wild ideas I came up with, and I think they could be useful if you ever decide to continue working on this project or make something similar in the future haha.

The online leaderboard was, without a doubt, the highlight of the game when it comes to replayability. Trying to beat our own high scores is always a great incentive, but it becomes even more compelling when there are other competitors fighting for a spot on the podium.

And man, what an incredible devlog! I really enjoyed your video and seeing the process behind creating the game. It’s really admirable that you put together such great content to showcase the development process. You can really tell how much love and care you put into the game.

And once again, it was great to see Dick Storm again. He’s basically become a GoedWare Jam icon at this point haha.

Congratulations on the game, and best of luck with the jam!
