Hi! I just released Lanternbit, a small pixel font for dialog boxes, HUDs and menus.

Lanternbit pixel font

  • Regular + Bold, 152 glyphs each (full printable ASCII + common Western European accented letters)
  • TTF, WOFF and BMFont (.fnt / .xml at 1x, 2x, 4x) plus PNG grid sheets, all built from the same bitmaps so every format matches
  • Digits share one width so scores and timers do not jitter; pixel-perfect at multiples of 10 px
  • Free sample: an uppercase + digits Regular TTF so you can test it in your engine first

Honest note: the glyphs were designed in code by an AI (Claude) working for me, and the page is tagged AI-generated. It has not been tested inside specific engines yet, so if you try it in Godot / Unity / GameMaker / LOVE I would love to hear how it behaves.

$3 minimum.

Not tested with Lanternbit itself, but a note for anyone putting the TTF into Godot 4: the default Subpixel Positioning, Auto (Except Pixel Fonts), is meant to detect a font drawn only in straight horizontal and vertical lines. If the glyphs still look uneven, set Subpixel Positioning and Antialiasing to Disabled in the Import tab and reimport. Godot also imports the .fnt files directly as bitmap fonts, where none of that applies.

The shared digit width is a nice touch for timers.
